This book of sculptures features 116 nine inch by twelve inch pages, more
than 80 color photographs of 51 works of art by J.Christopher White. Bird
sculptures, fish sculptures, western carvings, and sculptures from the popular "Relections
of the Heart" gallery are all featured in the book. It also includes
poetry, personal testimonials, the tools, and a behind the scenes look at the
unusual process of harvesting the wood, some of which is 1000 to 2000 years old.
We're sure that you'll want a copy for yourself and some to give as gifts
after you view the work of this most unusual and gifted artist Parables: truths illustrated, amplified, enhanced and applied, through the
use of creations and their stories; lessons presented on a road that travels
through the scenic valleys of the imagination; a path that circumvents certain
defenses and pragmatic judgments found on the barren of plains of mere
intellect. This road, with its veiled entrance, winds its way to a less guarded
door to the heart. A truth found on this path may catch a person unaware and
slip into the heart before pride and willful blindness slam the door closed.
Once inside, the truth sheds light that cannot be extinguished by any darkness.
Each wooden parable displayed [in this book] presents a truth. Their stories
are related in verse and retold in prose. Though each piece tells a separate
story, a scarlet thread passes throughout the book tying together the different
images in an attempt to reveal a Person. It is my prayer that the eyes of your
heart will look past the works, beyond the artist, and into the eyes of the
Creator, whose story they tell.
