High Calling

High Calling
The foundation has been given,
the Way, the Light, the goal,
that provides for us the Life,
true fulfillment of the soul.
As with any journey,
a leaving must take place,
each step goes forth and leaves behind,
thus we run the race.
Yet on the goal, our heart's desire,
must our eyes be fixed and set,
all that lays behind, that speaks of self,
we must forget.
For yearning to express His love
is a Being far past grand,
He's reaching out, His love evidenced,
by the nail scar in His hand.
To fully know this Person
is the goal for which we race,
each step we take, an act of faith,
a response to His loving grace.
Each moment holds a choice
of where to rest our eyes,
upon this awesome loving God
or on some fleeting lies.
Remember He has called you,
equipped you to respond,
His presence is one step away,
what's taking you so long?
