Breaking The Surface

Breaking past the surface
flashing in the light,
dancing on the water,
a strangely moving sight.

It shows determination,
strength to reach a goal,
energy, tenacity,
many parts that make the whole.

The things a man appreciates
give a glimpse into his heart,
perhaps reflect his makeup,
at least do so in part.

Adventurous in many ways,
purposed in his dream,
innovative in his planning,
his successes clearly seen.

His generosity shines brightly
toward his children and his wife,
this lavish loving care
an expression of his life.

For the character of who a man
is often seen in what is said
by those who know and love him,
those touched by the life he's led.
