The Face of Love

The Face of Love

God so loved, He sent His Son
into darkness cold and bare,
His very heart descended
to live and die down there.

For He had to show us rebels
the horrors of our sin
and slay His only precious lamb
so that we could enter in,

To the perfect love that they share
a Father and a Son,
forever One and Holy
light and glory one.

The Father called out from the sky
"In Him I am well pleased"
My Son the chosen Lamb of God
My new name now revealed

The Father in the sacrifice
now revealed from up above,
as Jesus shining in our hearts
the very face of love.
