Reaching Others
"Hereby perceive we the love of God,
that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives
for the brethren."
1 John 3: 16

REACHING OTHERS
As Peter sank beneath the waves
he cried out to the Lord,
a strong right had then reached down,
he was delivered and restored.
Jesus' hand still reaches out
to others in this day,
through His Spirit and the Word
and the people He has saved.
These saints are now His body
and as they follow His commands
they manifest His goodness
through their gentle, yielded hands.
Reaching out to families,
giving the wounded hope to heal,
providing help and refuge,
perhaps a simple meal.
Strong hands shepherding the shepherds
giving what they need,
through wise counsel and example,
so their own flocks they can lead.
When encouragement is needed
or exhortation to keep on,
He lifts the weary and the wounded
with hands both generous and strong.
So thank God for humble servants
that truly glorify His name,
as you see them reaching others,
reach out and do the same.
