West Texas Juniper on Mesquite  Wingspan 52"

In Turn

West Texas juniper grows approximately one inch in width every 50 to 65 years. Since these trees grow from one side to the other instead of from the center out, they have a cross section that is pie shaped to rectangular. For this reason they tend to twist in the winds that howl through their native canyons. The twisting, bending, and various stresses on the tree produce a variety of ripples, swells, shapes and interesting grain patterns. This stunning example of beautiful grain is enhanced by the actual movement of the sculpture. Perfectly balanced on a steel rod, the eagle appears to soar as you spin the sculpture. The light plays off the grain in amazing ways, as the bird makes its round. This really is a one of a kind piece of artwork.

You showed me my sin,

My hopeless condition.

In turn, I cried out

For mercy and salvation.

You showed me the blood

That washed away my sin.

In turn, I received your gift

And so was born again.

Even when unfaithful

Your faithfulness I see.

In turn, I reach back toward the One

Who is reaching down to me.

Always it will be so,

I have no light to shine,

Except what is reflected

Off this soul of mine.

It's the only way to know

The goodness that is You.

Your love is so much greater

Than the wonders that you do.

Lord please keep my eyes upon You

Then I'll shine bright and true,

With the light that you have given,

The love that's truly You.

" We love Him, because He first loved us."
